"I would definitely recommend VastTrack's Future CEO internship program to any student seeking real business experience. It’s amazing how Tony and Michelle brought me to company meetings to have eye-opening discussions that exposed me to the realities of FinTech and EdTech companies.
What made this experience unique was the hands-on access: I didn't just observe, but actively participated in business meetings and competitive analyses. The practical skills I gained - from professional presentations to understanding startup operations - completely changed my perspective. In fact, this internship transformed my academic plans - I came in with no business background but left seriously considering a business major!
For any student hesitant about their first business internship, don't be. They’re really great and treat you like one of their own, don’t be afraid to apply!"

Jenny Li - The University of Hong Kong Student
"Hello, everyone! My name is Jenny, and I’m a third-year student majoring in Economics and Finance at the University of Hong Kong. I’m happy to share my experience as a program intern at VastTrack, where I’ve been working for the past three months. Today, I’ll walk you through how I discovered VastTrack, what I learned from their Future CEO Internship Program, my role as a program intern, and why I believe VastTrack is an incredible opportunity for you this summer.
So, how did I end up at VastTrack?
In the first semester of my third year, I attended an interview workshop organized by VastTrack at HKU. Honestly, this workshop was a game-changer for me. They didn’t just teach me how to ace interviews—they showed me how to use AI tools for research, PowerPoint creation, and even managing daily tasks. These tools have become time-savers for me, helping me maximize my time and efficiency from school assignments to work duties.
After the workshop,, they reached out via WhatsApp to introduce their Future CEO Internship Program. What caught my attention was the promise of reference letters from both VastTrack’s CEO and an HKU lecturer upon completing the 4-day program. Yes, just 4 days! These reference letters are invaluable—they can open doors to future internships, especially since many longer internships don’t offer them unless you specifically ask.
So, what’s the Future CEO Internship Program like? It’s a 4-day intensive program packed with practical learning. One highlight was the one-on-one consultation with Michelle. Unlike generic CV workshops with hundreds of students, Michelle reviewed my LinkedIn profile in detail and gave personalized suggestions to make it stand out. This tailored feedback was far more effective than any group session I’ve attended.Who here has a LinkedIn but isn’t sure it’s doing anything for you? This program will fix that, trust me.
Another key component was analyzing a Harvard Business Case on Booking.com. Imagine this: their website used to look as plain as a Google search page. Boring, right? They revamped it with vibrant photos and a user-friendly design, and boom—traffic and profits skyrocketed. In group discussions led by Michelle, we debated why this worked and how a CEO’s decisions can make or break a company. It was like being in the boardroom, strategizing how to make a website irresistible.
this exercise taught me how to think strategically, learn from past business decisions, and apply those insights to real-world scenarios, like designing a better company website.
The program also covered essential skills like CV writing and LinkedIn optimization, equipping me with tools I could immediately apply. These practical, workplace-relevant lessons made the program a fantastic stepping stone for my internship at VastTrack.
After the program, I joined VastTrack as a program intern, focusing on marketing and client relations. Let me share some key experiences from my three months.
My first month was about understanding VastTrack’s operations and background. I worked on creating marketing content, like email and Facebook posts, and reached out to potential clients. My first major project was promoting the Future CEO Proposal Competition to all Hong Kong secondary schools . With over 400 schools to contact, sending individual emails would take forever. So, I learned to use Mail Merge tools to personalize emails automatically, addressing each to the school’s principal. It made them feel special, like, “Wow, VastTrack wrote this just for us!”, increasing the engagement. When schools responded with questions, I was a middle person, coordinating with VastTrack colleagues to provide answers. This taught me how to manage client communications effectively.
In my second month, we organized online Q&A sessions for schools about the competition. I joined these meetings, gaining insight into how client meetings work and what schools needed. I also prepared PowerPoint presentations for a competition briefing session, which significantly improved my design skills. Additionally, I chelped with Lingnan University’s Future CEO program, such as designing Google Forms for your program, learning what information is critical to collect.
By May, my responsibilities grew. I worked on promoting VastTrack’s AI teacher training course to secondary school teachers. Using the AI tools I learned in the workshop, I researched teachers’ needs and discovered that Hong Kong teachers require continuing professional development (CPD) hours. So, I suggested we highlight how our course meets those hours, making it more appealing. I also proposed partnering with Education City to list our course on their platform, creating an additional channel to reach educators. Another idea was offering free demo classes for students to try before they buy.
Michelle and Tony were incredibly supportive and open to my suggestions, they really put your suggestions into actions!
I also recommended collecting feedback forms after every course, including a question asking students if their feedback could be used as testimonials. Why?These testimonials add credibility and show future clients the real impact of VastTrack’s programs.
VastTrack isn’t just about desk work, it’s about unique experiences.
For example, I joined a group chat with their mainland China partners to plan summer programs like the Future CEO, CFO, and CTO study tours. I followed up with them over phone calls, gaining real-world experience in cross-border collaboration. In July, I’ll have the chance to attend a Future CEO training camp at Harrow International School as an educator. A girls’ school kid like me working at a boys’ school like Harrow? That is a bucket-list moment!
What sets VastTrack apart is the variety. Unlike internships limited to one department or mundane tasks like photocopying, You’ll touch marketing, client relations, education—real stuff that matters.. Most importantly, the internship is flexible—about 80% of the work is remote, so you can manage your time effectively. Whether you’re working in the morning, evening, or even midnight, as long as you complete your tasks, VastTrack gives you the freedom to balance work with your summer plans. You can work from your couch at midnight if that’s your vibe.
One of the best parts of VastTrack is its supportive culture. Michelle and Tony are like the coolest mentors ever—supportive, open, and genuinely care about your ideas.
Early in my internship, I made a mistake by missing a Zoom meeting I was supposed to host for a school. The school and VastTrack were stuck in the waiting room for an hour! I thought, “That’s it, I’m fired.” However, Michelle and Tony didn’t scold me—they guided me on how to apologize and resolve the issue. I called the school, arranged a new meeting, and they ended up sending three teams to the competition. This experience taught me that mistakes are okay if you own them and learn. It also helped me break my habit of using airplane mode to focus, ensuring I stay reachable for work.
So, why should you intern at VastTrack? It is a chance to gain practical, transferable skills in marketing, client relations, and education. The Future CEO Program gives you reference letters that make your CV shine, hands-on skills like LinkedIn mastery, and insights into real business decisions. The flexible work arrangement lets you balance your summer, whether you’re in Hong Kong or abroad. Most importantly, you’ll work in a supportive environment where your ideas are valued.
I’ve taken marketing courses at HKU, but nothing compares to learning by doing at VastTrack. These skills stick because you use them in real projects. The best way of learning is by doing it. These skills you learnt are directly applicable to the workplace and have made me more competitive for future opportunities.
That’s my story and Thank you for listening!"
